Tell us about yourself and your cycling or adventuring achievements?

As well as working with bicycles I also enjoy riding them. I raced for many years, gaining 2nd cat. status on the road and winning some local races. I have also been a member of the West Drayton Mountain Bike Club for over fifteen years and was a member of their four man team that took 3rd place at the inaugural Red Bull 24hr event, just behind the professional Raleigh and Giant squads.

What famous cyclists have you met during your career ?

Sigma Sport have sponsored a number of national and international triathletes and I have prepared and maintained their bicycles for competition use. These include World champion Spencer Smith, world ranked number one Andrew Johns, Olympic star Tim Don and national champion Richard Stannard amongst others.

What other cycling activities have you been involved with ?

On various occasions I have given practical demonstrations to school and cub scout groups on how to maintain their bicycles. These have been on a voluntary basis and I have found them to be very rewarding.

I have been actively involved in the organising of both off road and road racing events, having helped to run many of the West Drayton Mountain Bike Club’s events in the Surrey countryside. I organised the 1998 and 1999 BCF West Thames Division Divisional Road Race championships and still help out at a number of road racing events

What cycling qualifications do you have ?

I am Cytech Part 1 and Part 2 qualified.

Over the years I have received training from various bicycle and component manufacturers including Mavic, Trek, Sapim, SRAM etc.
